Whose life it is anyway?

The world has very definite ideas on who should be running our lives. Let’s take a quick glance at two popular views on this.

We can believe the birds or Frank and live our lives with our own desires and plans in the center. If we do, then we are pretty much out for ourselves. Even when we do good things, there is a large measure of self in there. Or we can look at it another way.

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” 1 Cor 6:19-20

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Rom 12:1-2

“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.
For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? Luke 9:24-25

But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. Rom 6:22

As we continue to walk in our lives, we must look each day at the choice before us:

Whose life it it anyway – Mine or God’s?

One choice leads us to bondage and defeat. The other choice leads us to victory and freedom. What are YOU going to choose?

  4. Yes, you’re right. It’s a choice we have to make each day. Several times a day. Our way or God’s way! His way is always best but sometimes I try to drive, lol! 😉 Thanks for hosting.

    • Ahh, Nan, yes. How easy it is for us to take the driver’s seat! And I know for me it is often a moment by moment choice to surrender and follow HIS way! Great to see you again.
