The sweetness of God

My husband and I have the opportunity to pray regularly with some dear, dear friends. Sometimes our time together is very powerful and the Spirit is heavy upon us in the room. Sometimes we are very tired, barely staying awake until we start to pray and the Spirit stirs us up and we leave rejuvenated. Sometimes the Spirit whispers to our minds and we pray as we feel led. Sometimes we pray through the scriptures.

Tonight was a little different for me. It was not a powerful time. It was not a time of great moving of the Spirit among us. It was not a time of being invigorated.

Tonight was sweet.

I tried to explain it to my husband. It was like being held in the arms of the Father and having a cool gentle breeze from Him kiss me on the cheek. It was sweet. The sweetness of God filling my soul with His gentleness, goodness and light.

How have YOU experienced the sweetness of God lately?

  1. Those moments are precious with our Savior. Thankfully we don’t really have to describe them to other believers because they’ve experienced it too. It’s like being held in the arms of your Father and knowing that you’re safe and loved and there’s just a quiet peace within your heart.

Thanks for hosting today! I went ahead and linked up.

  2. I was talking with a friend yesterday who was saying that she once felt the immensity and peace of the love of God but hesitated to try to explain the experience for fear of being misunderstood. Thanks for being brave.
