Stock-up Saturday

Well, we’ve been running quite low on grocery money these past few months and have been shopping from the pantry. Now the pantry is getting MIGHTY low so it is time to stock it back up.

This week Kroger had their pasta on sale 10 for $10. I am kind of picky about the type of pasta I buy. If at all possible, I buy pasta that is made in Italy and imported. But in our lean times, I can’t afford to do that. So my next choice is to buy pasta that is made with 100% durum semolina. Anything else and it tastes like wallpaper paste (and with the same texture). So, when Kroger has their sale of 10 for $10 of a brand I like, we stock up!! I picked up 30 boxes of pasta at this price and that will last for 15 meals for our family.

They also have a sale on their Sobe Lifewater. I really like this, it has 0 calories and doesn’t use Aspartame. I like to have these on hand to send with Kevin’s lunches (we each drink 1/2 at a time) and for a treat for me (water alone all day long can get really OLD). So I picked up 20.

This uses up all my Overflow Money, but it makes a little dent in my stock-up needs.

  1. I find a few frozen berries in my water is nice, or a squeeze of lemon. Most of the time I just drink cold water, plain. But if I want a little more, that is what I do. You may also like cucumber slices in the summer, or a spring of mint.
