Today I was confronted with my LACK of power in a dead vehicle. I could steer the wheel all I wanted, I was going nowhere without the power in my battery to cause my ignition to spark. I had NO POWER.
A jump start from a sweet friend helped remind me of how often we try to live our lives without the life-giving power of the Spirit of God. We steer and steer and lean into life, but when we are not walking in the power of the Spirit, when we are not connected to the spark of our spiritual lives, we are going nowhere. We forget that it is GOD who has the power and we neglect to connect our spiritual cables to His Spirit for that power.

Father, I lift up the saints from HTBC who are in Honduras. Lord, protect their bodies from disease and infection and injury. Keep them strong in body and strong in faith to minister Your love and Your compassion to those around them. Go before them and be their rear guard by day, and encamp Your angels around them by night. I trust You for Your power working in and through them to accomplish Your will this week. In Jesus’ mighty name.

We’ve been writing about this too! http://www.maidservantsofchrist.com/detail.asp?DetailID=252&Return=bymonth.asp?Start=6/1/2013 I love the idea of a car. You can steer all you want but with no power the thing won’t go! What a great metaphor. I can imagine myself frantically turning the wheel on a stalled car.
That’s right, we’ve got to stay connected to the power source if we want to get anywhere! Love the graphic too. Thanks for linking up to the “Making Your Home Sing Monday” linky party today! 🙂
Oh thanks! Love your blog.
