Grilled Cheese and Pride

This post was inspired by my 18 year old daughter and her friend, who each had ideas on what I should blog about – and it ended up being grilled cheese and pride. So, after much prayer, here is what the Lord has for me to share.

how pride is like a grilled cheese sandwich

A comparison table between grilled cheese and pride – a tongue-in-cheek post:

Grilled CheesePride

a simple foodas simple as desiring to place yourself above God

  1. I was wondering how you would pull it off, Kate! This was an excellent way to compare the two!
I love the statement about being disguised as something good for our self worth. Many times pride has disguised itself in me in the opposite way- I’ve been guilty for not being or doing something because I thought it would look prideful- when really it was derailing my self confidence. And, I’ve been puffed up many times only to have His Precious Hand gently and firmly squeeze it out of me- hard lessons for sure.

  6. What a funny way to drive home your point, Kate. I never knew there were so many correlations between grilled cheese and pride. I love grilled cheese but rarely indulge in it. And I hate pride but often indulge in it. How’s that for another comparison. Ugh! Thanks for the gentle nudge to kick that pride to the curb!
