Day 21 of Giving Thanks

I woke up very early from a bad dream. That isn’t what I’m thankful for. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE MY SLEEP! Bed is one of my very favorite places to be. Lying down, propped up, reading, praying or just hanging out…bed is just fun!

Since I hurt my back in October, lying down in my bed has not been much fun. And this morning, like most others lately, I’m awakened either by discomfort or bad dreams.

But as I’ve been sitting downstairs doing computer administration, I’ve been able to watch the sunrise. Now, granted, it has not been as glorious as some photos I see online — but it HAS been beautiful nonetheless. To have the sun break over the houses and trees with its golden glow and mark a path of movement across my couch and floor has been a sweet delight.

So, although I love to sleep and stay in my bed, I’m very thankful for these early morning visits with a visible expression of the glory of God. So, I guess I AM thankful for bad dreams and a slowly healing back that has allowed this precious time with God this morning.

  1. I didn’t get a chance to visit yesterday but when I read your post today I wanted to share what I wrote yesterday with you: “Today I am thankful for quiet days and peaceful skies. It looks like it is going to storm early every morning, but then the sky clears and it turns out clearer. It is cold but quiet. It seems the leaves have mostly all fallen and are just waiting for the snow to cover them. Among all the chaos of getting ready for Thanksgiving, it is nice to have a quiet day and contemplate the gifts God has already given me.” I havent written todays post yet, I will later, but I want you to know that I am praying for you, your back and bad dreams. I have had many bad dreams because of past “stuff” but I also understand pain as I have fibromyalgia and it keeps me from sleeping many times and the quietness of the morning and the time with God is precious so I don’t complain, and your post reminded me of that. I hope you have a blessed day and feel better. I have enjoyed doing these days of Thanks giving with you.! Take care of yourself Kate.
