I haven’t been in a baking mood for a very very long time. I normally love baking. Much more than cooking. Several  years ago I went completely sugar free (well, only allowed myself 15 g of sugar a day in all foods). And, although I have slipped from my dietary focus, I really haven’t picked up baking.

Until today.

So, this is just a short post to encourage Christmas baking! Tonight I made:

  • chocolate crinkles
  • peanut butter squares
  • prepared but haven’t finished orange raspberry turnovers

I am still thinking of what other cookies to make. I’m taking suggestions in the comments! Give me your best suggestions (recipes would be appreciated if they are not a standard cookie). I’ll post the recipes tomorrow along with some photos for these.

Tonight, I’m off to bed!

    Ps, does the cutting back on sugar to 15 gms a day work? I have to do something about my health, I am trying but its not easy.

    • Sorry, forgot. Yes, with cutting back to 15 g of sugar really helped with weight loss (I have such a struggle with that…my body doesn’t quite work right) BUT it keeps my glucose levels low — I’m at very high risk for diabetes. It is a pretty rigid change, but I was able to keep it going faithfully until I was hospitalized and they have NO food that is low sugar! That broke me and I’ve never quite gotten back into the swing of things. Need to make that a priority again.
