Hello! I’m Kate

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.” Titus 2:3-5

I love to share the things God has taught me these past 40+ years of walking with Him: the old and the new. Since we are all (hopefully) still growing in our walks with God, there are still new things He is showing us.

I have a calling:

My heart and soul is centered in discipleship, with older women teaching younger women. I was discipled very intensely when I first came to Christ over 40 years ago. The women who built into my life passed on the spiritual heritage of pouring their lives into faithful women.

I have been discipling women for over 4 decades and continue to grow and learn in my own walk with God. I grow most as I encourage and teach others. It is not just about teaching how to study the bible, but it is about learning how the bible speaks to EVERY aspect of our lives. It is about the life-giving power of the Word of God reaching deep into our hearts, minds and spirits to transform us into the image of Jesus. I continue to pass on the heritage that was passed on to me, encouraging you to do the same!

What I am not:

I am not a naturally organized kind of gal. But, out of necessity, I have learned how to make order in our large family and to work efficiently and speedily.

I am not an official expert on most things. But I have learned that expert is a relative term. Homeschooling for almost 30 years has taught me much. My love for learning and for teaching what I learn is lived out in my life daily.

I am not a biblical scholar but I DO love Jesus and find great joy in sharing the insights and wisdom He reveals to me daily.

I am not a SuperMom (as if she really existed anywhere anyway) – I am very aware of my limitations and have learned to function very well within those parameters.

What I am:

I am passionate about the man I married in 1984. Kevin is the love of my life and is my greatest encouragement and support. He is godly, gentle and my biggest blessing.

I am passionate about my children; I have 8. I have been extremely blessed to have homeschooled for 30 years. It is my desire to be their biggest cheerleader as they seek to find and follow God’s best for their lives.

I am passionate to teach and train others what I have learned and to work to make other people more successful in whatever they touch. This finds expression in my services on this site as well as through the teachings on my blog.

I am passionate, most importantly of all, about God. He is my strength, my rock, my delight and my joy. The freedom and joy He has brought me is greater than words can ever express.
