This is a short and sweet post today. I’m sharing 4 points from my pastor’s sermon from Matt.14:22-33 in the story of Jesus walking on the water.
Point 1
In the midst of our trials, Jesus cares for us!
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… Is 43:2a
Point 2
Jesus bids us to come to Him.
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Matt 11:28
Point 3
Jesus, in the midst of the storm, will never fail us.
The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Deut 31:8
Point 4
Jesus is greater than anything we will ever face!
Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You… Jer 32:17

This Sunday’s sermon was understanding our stories from the what God has told us in Scripture — and the story was Cain and Abel’s — ironic in light of current events. Their story, the pastor said, is ours. Genesis 4:1-17; Hebrews 11:4
Cain’s faith, even back then, was “cultural,” convenient — when challenged, it had no staying power — he was an easy target for sin crouching at his done,
Like Cain, we have no power to bear the punishment we deserve — Only Christ can. “By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.”(Hebrews 11:4)
The malevolence — murderous deeds that so shock us today have ancient, defiant roots.
Wow… a powerful message! And God knew how necessary it would be this week. Thanks for sharing that snippet, dear friend!!
