Week 1 of Faithful Freezer Meals

Here is my first week of my 6 week goal to fill my freezer – both for helping out our own financial crunch time AND for being available to bless others with meals when needed!

This has been a fun week for me in planning out the meals I’d like to double! And in thinking of how I can add little extras to my Faithful Freezer for those ministry meals. I ended up doubling 3 meals this week (the third one will be tonight’s supper), so I’ll be adding to my freezer:

Since we are still in SUPER TIGHT MODE, I won’t be adding any desserts this week.  I’m posting links to these recipes and photos of my freezer additions (I’m unable to post photos right now — since my blog move photos are not posting). For those of you who have never tried filling the freezer, I wrote about my experience a number of years ago. My very dear friend Cheryl and I did Once A Month cooking for about a year. It was a great time (TREMENDOUS fellowship) and a good savings. You can read about our trials and errors as well as our successes.

So, if you are joining with me, post the link-up to some of the meals you are freezing. And please feel free to ask your questions and I’ll try and answer them as best as I can!

  • This past week I froze two meatloaves and one hamburger macaroni and cheese. I used to always freeze one out of the recipe I have, but I made three loaves instead of two. The smaller one worked JUST as good, and it didn’t even feel as if any food was missing. :)

I didn’t realize this was a link up. I hope it’s still okay if I join in even though I don’t haev a post about it.

Sounds like an organized way to stay on top of things!
