I was given the Sunshine Award!

Well, don’t you just LOVE IT when another blogger awards you for your work as part of the online community? I know I do! Sue from Journeying Sue (a very encouraging blog about family and homeschooling that I’ve been enjoying for several months) gave me The Sunshine Blog Award which is a prize awarded to “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”. Well, I’m honored and blessed!

The past few months I’ve been more and more blessed with the women I’ve gotten to know in the blogosphere. The community of love, care and support is simply wonderful and I’m excited about these awards that encourage others to build that community and relish the fellowship in cyberspace.

This award appears to be about 10: passing it to 10 bloggers, answering 10 questions about myself. Now, I’m ALL ABOUT GRACE! So I don’t want anyone receiving this to to feel any obligation to pass it on or answer the questions. We are all very busy women and sometimes getting blogs written is all the time or energy we have along with our other responsibilities, and sometimes trials in our lives. To think about having to choose special blogs and answer questions might be too much.

I’m wanting to bless these sweet bloggers without giving any pressure for extra work. I might be going against the flow, but if you choose to pass this on it is UP TO YOU!! In the meantime, please feel free to post your award in joy on your blog knowing you have been a blessing and encouragement to me!!

I’m handing the grace to me as well. I’m going to choose 5 bloggers to pass this on to and share 5 of my favorite things. Time for me is very short this week and I want to pass this award on to some special women.

Here are the blogs I’d like to bless with this award.

Weak and Loved Emily’s blog is a very tender and honest blog about her journey with the Lord as a wife and mother through the trials He has allowed in her life. Emily is a new friend that I’m loving getting to know. You will too!

Young Wife’s Guide Jami Leigh writes a sweet, cheerful and helpful blog on homemaking. I had the privilege of being a contributor on her e-book Apartment Gardening.

What Joy Is Mine Naomi is such a sweet new friend. Her blog is very encouraging and her tender spirit comes out in her posts along with her love for the Lord and her family. She hosts a Monday link-up, Monday Musings, and she generously features several blogs each Monday, passing the encouragement and sense of community on.

Healing Moments Rina’s serene and gracious writing is always a place I go when I feel I need a virtual hug. Her love for God’s grace and healing is a blessing to her readers and I’m sure to her family.

Morning Cuppas With Glenys Glenys’ blog is absolutely lovely! Very calming and restful. Glenys has a great heart for building community among bloggers and I have learned a great deal from her. I particularly love the photos she posts on her Facebook page.

My 5 favorite things:

  1. My favorite state: If I had a choice to live anywhere it would be Maine. I love Maine, the rugged coast, the ancient mountains, the winding roads, the brutal winters.
  2. My favorite food: Chocolate…is there any other choice?
  3. My favorite exercise routine: Sleep. :D
  4. My favorite fragrance: Well, I’m going to cheat here. Vanilla. Sometimes I use it for perfume! But I also love lilacs and lavender.
  5. My favorite website: CHFWeb is a wonderful forum for Christian homeschoolers, although there are many who don’t homeschool. It is a place for encouragement and discipleship and fun and help. I have been blessed to be a moderator there for 15 years and have found some of my most precious friendships among these dear and precious women.

Well, I hope you visit the blogs I awarded and find the encouragement there that I do!
