I’m sure I’ve posted a Thankful post on this before but I just HAVE to do it again!
If there is one thing I’ve found over the years of walking with the Lord it is this: life is funny!
Yes, we have grief and sorrow, we have trials and tragedies and we have just plain tough times. But, being able to see the humor in the midst of circumstances keeps me more centered in God. I guess so much of this has come from the past 19 years of my life when God changed my life verse to Neh 8:10 – the joy of the Lord is your strength!
- The enemy loses his stronghold on my mind when I’m laughing.
- I’m less gloomy to be around when I’m laughing.
- People tend to see God more when I’m laughing in hard circumstances.
- I don’t look as old when I’m laughing!
Now, please do not misunderstand. I’m not saying that it is wrong to cry or grieve or sorrow. There are many scriptures that talk about those as well and the harshness of our lives here. BUT this is just the thing that God has been teaching me these many years. Today it is my Thankful post that I wanted to share.

Amen, laughter is great medicine.
Yes, we must find the laugh despite ourselves. Amen!
Humor and laughter are truly gifts. God gives us many great things, but I’m always happiest when laughing. Thanks for sharing. Glad you are back to blogging.
I read parts of a book awhile ago on humor and the Bible. I found it somehow “freeing”. God is so funny! I mean, look at all he created. Laughter is a great healer in many ways. Thanks for the great reminder
Kathleen, I agree! There are so many times I’m reading a passage and I think, “Boy, God must have really been laughing out loud on that one!!” Thanks for sharing!
