Some weeks it is hard for me to write a Thankful Thursday post. Not because it’s hard to find something to be thankful for, but because there are SO MANY to choose from!
I’ll be cliche (even if not in my heart) and say how grateful I am for having a new year ahead. I think about Anne of Green Gables and how she was challenged to look at each day as new and fresh with no mistakes in it. I look at a new calendar and think of all the things God might reveal to me about Himself. I look at my school schedule and think about all the ways I hope to challenge and stimulate my children to excellence in their education and character. I look ahead to the new year and think about all the ways I’m not bound by my past failures or sins.
For me a new year is a visible expression of the grace and hope and power we have in the Lord! I rejoice in what we can look forward to, yet still realizing that it comes with work and sacrifice on the part of my flesh.
So, I’m thankful for the new year of 2012 and all that God can do in it and in me!
I join you in being thankful for this New Year- and I look forward with excitement to what God is about to do ….He already has amazed me and it is only a few days into the year!!
