Loving Our children

Scripture calls the older women to teach the younger women to love their children. Sometimes that is easy to understand but not always so easy to put into practice. Loving them is one thing, training them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord is another.

In the past several decades children have been seen as a necessary inconvenience. Couples want to have children but they don’t want to take the trouble to raise them. Their care is, often from as early as 6 weeks, given to “professionals” who try to convince moms that They alone know how to raise children.  Oftentimes even the church has bought into this concept.

Children are time consuming, exhausting, expensive, messy, require sacrifice,  and are a life long commitment.

Children are endearing, affectionate, charming, sweet, loving, intelligent, resourceful, curious, and provide a lifetime of possibilities.

Yes, there are heartaches, but there are also joys inexpressible. I hope to share a vision of children as a blessing from God to be enjoyed rather than an inconvenience to be endured. I hope you’ll see them as part of the joy in our NOW rather than viewing our life as “ON HOLD” until they are finally out of the house

Here is where I’ll be sharing things that will hopefully help young moms to grow in this area of their life. Look for the category of Raising Children under All Things Family, or follow this link.
