The Greek word for kind in Titus 2:5 is agathos which means:
- 1) of good constitution or nature
- 2) useful, salutary
- 3) good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy
- 4) excellent, distinguished
- 5) upright, honourable
Learning to walk in joy and living in such a way that bestows that joy, cheerfulness and grace to others is a great struggle for many of us. Sometimes it is easy to do in church on Sundays but not always so easy to do it driving behind a careless driver or standing behind a thoughtless person in the check out lane or even dealing with our children if we are having emotional trials.
Kindness should be on the tongue of a woman making a claim to godliness and something we must all be growing in. I will be sharing scriptures and thoughts on how we can continue to grow in kindness to one another in every part of our daily lives. Kindness sometimes seems to be a lost “art” in our culture today. May we encourage one another to grow in grace and kindness in our speech and actions to one another.
